In 2017 we started a volunteer program which is growing steadily.
Volunteer opportunities exist on a range of projects that empower local communities where valuable experience in community outreach and development work can be gained:
Help coordinate and conduct community needs analyses
Help implement programs that flow out of the needs analyses
Help inform communities about healthy nutrition and growing and producing their own food
Work and stay in one of the communities
Identify opportunities to complement and also enhance the quality and levels of education that the children receive in the communities
Help extend support to the various crèches and home based care organisations
Coordinate and assist with the rehabilitation and restoration of water infrastructure in the communities where we work
Assist in building volunteer accommodation in the communities
Assist the communities to establish and develop community based tourism initiatives
Help publicise Pala Forerunners and secure support for our work.
Until the volunteer accommodation is built in the communities, volunteers will be accommodated in and around the town of White River.
You may not have the time or inclination to become a volunteer but what about becoming a Friend of the Forerunners? You could help us to publicise and get support for Pala Forerunners wherever you live in the world.
We recognise the importance of researching and further developing and refining the way we do things. We therefore engage universities and post-graduate students to carry out research within and related to our operations.
